Our major event for 2025 is the Ipswich Town Art Trail, and we are getting quite excited about it!
There will be ten venues across the town featuring exhibitions, art demonstrations, drop-in mini workshops and artists working “live”.
The Art Trail highlights Ipswich artists as a part of a vibrant community, and by making it accessible to all we can encourage visitors to engage with the arts and the artists themselves.

Three of the venues on the trail are part of the Heritage Open Days, and we chose to have our Art Trail on the first weekend so that there would be a mutual benefit for both organised events. Having art in heritage buildings benefits both the venue and the arts, offering a special and worthwhile experience for visitors. Visitors will get to see the wonderful artwork on display against the backdrop of a beautiful heritage building. The buildings on our trail that are part of the Heritage Open Days are The Unitarian Meeting House, St Clements Arts Centre, and The Ipswich Minster.
We also have two vibrant galleries involved in the art trail - Greenhouse Gallery and MF Gallery which host year-round exhibitions and both offer a bespoke framing service too. There are quirky spaces to visit - Le Garagiste and The Foto Ginnel who are using their spaces to create exhibitions of work by Ipswich artists. You can also visit the amazing Stained Glass Studio which offers year-round workshops and where you can discover other creative opportunities. We also have Ipswich's very own community hubs - CHIp (Community Hub Ipswich) and The Hive where all sorts of exciting things are happening within the Ipswich community.
There will be a map leaflet available from each venue, and on the day from the Unitarian Meeting House (the Hub and recommended starting point). The map features details of each venue, as well as symbols for disabled access, public toilets, and parking.
Entrance to all venues is FREE and no booking is required.
